An oil painting on paperboard by an anonymous artist. This traditional Germanic scene depicts a man playing the guitar while a group of women spanning three generations watches him. It is unsigned and presented behind a mat in a painted gold tone and black wood and gesso frame with ivy molded ornamentation and a painted wood liner. There is wire to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- to Poor; discoloration and foxing throughout painting; edge wear to frame, large pieces of gesso are missing from frame to the upper right and lower right corners; frame liner is mottled and shows discoloration; mat is covered with a layer of accretion; upper right corner of mat is missing.
