An 1897 illustrated edition of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Copyrighted by John C. Winston after a British edition and published by Earle Publishing House, this ‘memorial edition’ produced after Stowe’s death in 1896 features black-and-white illustrations by Jenny Nystrom-Stroopendaal (and does not, as claimed on the title page, include ‘original drawings by various artists’). The book is bound in cloth-covered boards with illustrations on the front cover and spine.
