Vintage Marzi & Remy Stoneware Lidded Punch Bowl

Item Details

A vintage Marzi & Remy stoneware punch bowl. The piece features ornate embossed depictions of castles, statues, and landmarks of Germany on panels of cobalt blue surrounded by molded grape vines in cream with ridged branch style handles. The bowl offers a removable lid with a figure of a bearded man in a red cap seated on a grassy knoll serving as the handle. The piece might also be used as a soup tureen. It was produced in Germany before 1964 and is incised with the Marzi & Remy potter’s wheel mark to the underside with the style number ‘2940.’

Condition

- to Fair; the lid has been cracked and repaired; chip to interior rim; other small chips present.
