A circa 1860s map of Asia from McNally’s System of Geography, map no. 29. The piece depicts the countries and empires of Arabia, Persia, Afghanistan, Chinese Empire, Russian Empire, India, Japan Islands and other surrounding nations, rendered in alternating pale hues of green, yellow, blue and pink. The map is double-matted in white and presented under protective glazing in a composite frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
