An intaglio print on paper by American artist Martha Slaymaker (born 1935). This piece depicts two woman lounging in front of a wall covered in an early form of written text and hieroglyphs. It is unsigned and presented behind a mat and glass in a gilt frame with wire to the verso for hanging. There is a short newspaper article on the artist included in an envelope to the verso.

Condition

- discoloration and foxing around margins of ground; ink smudges on left margin; minor wear to corners of frame; discoloration on article inside envelope.
