A framed Marihuana poster. This screen printed film poster reads ‘Marihuana, Weed with Roots in Hell, Not Recommended for Children’ as a promotion for the 1936 exploitation film Marihuana. The poster shows images of drug users, a syringe, and a demon’s taloned claw, amid cautionary slogans such as ‘What happens at marihuana parties?’ and ‘Shame, horror, despair.’ The piece is presented under glass in a black wooden frame, with a wire hanger to the verso.
