An oil painting on canvas of a Dutch landscape by listed American artist Frank Wallis (born 1897). This scene depicts a large wooden windmill next to a broad river. The clear water reflects the warm twilight hues as the sun approaches the horizon in the distance. The work is signed in the lower left. It is presented in a gold tone wood and gesso frame with scrolled corner motif. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

Condition

- in-painting and over-painting throughout center and along lower edges particularly to lower right; abrasion and wear with loss of finish throughout frame; some scratches and nicks to frame.
