A copper and calcite sculpture by 20th century American artist Brian Bijan. This piece depicts a hot air balloon floating low over a stony ground, its basket empty and its ladder dragging underneath it as if recently vacated. The piece is marked ‘Copyright Bijan’ to the top of the calcite base and does not have any other visible maker’s marks.
Condition
- fair; oxidation on bottom of basket; oxidation on balloon; wear to patina on metal ribons attached to balloon.
