‘Lime Houses’, one of J.A. McN. Whistler’s (1834-1903) ‘Thames Set’ of etchings, depicts a busy mid-19th century English dock with great detail. Fine print just above image reads ‘Brown & Bigelow, St. Paul Minn., printed in U.S.A.’ Text underneath image with title and reproduced artist name. Framed in simple black wooden frame. Paper affixed to back has artist biography.
Condition
Signs of age and wear include small brown spot on etching’s lower right corner. Needs to be cleaned. Backing is deteriorating.
