A power-loomed Karastan Floral Kirman wool area rug. This American-made rug features a classic Persian Kerman design in a palette of cream, celadon, shades of pink, sapphire, azure, and brown. It begins with a cream-colored field densely patterned with small sprays of flowers amid palmettes, lancet leaves, and vase forms. The design forgoes border edges in favor of simply surrounding the field with a riot of vases and bouquets over darker ground colors. Selvedges are overcast. Ends feature applied fringe. The rug is labeled on the reverse.
