The woman carries a basket balanced upon her head, and the man carries a rifle. A third figure in a red shirt is visible ahead of them on the path in the distance. The unsigned work is presented unframed.

- some discoloration to varnish; stretcher marks; craquelure throughout painting; some abrasions and marks throughout painting particularly to areas of sky at upper center; some paint loss to edges of painting; relining to canvas; paper tape to outer edges of stretchers; abrasions and wear to edges of canvas.
