An oil on canvas after Las Meninas, the seminal work by Diego Velazquez. Interestingly, this work is attributed on frame’s plaque to Piero Todeschini, a landscape and genre painter of the early 20th century. Todeschini may have executed this work in his student days, given the early 20th century and exquisite Italian gilt and stenciled frame.

- dust and debris present to front and verso of frame and composition; craquelure and toning to paint; inpainting present to the composition margins; scratches and cracks to frame; canvas is slightly too small for frame; gaps at frame corners; toning to canvas verso.
