Item Details
A set of six antique Louis XVI style giltwood dining chairs. The set includes two armchairs and four side chairs, all with intricately carved giltwood frames. The armchairs have straight crest rails with carved ears over a padded and upholstered backrest and seat flanked by arms with padded and upholstered rests and acanthus carved S-scroll supports. The seat rises on turned and reeded legs on blunt arrow feet. The side chairs feature straight crest rails with carved wreaths over a circular padded and upholstered backrest framed by openwork carved leaves and garlands and flanked by straight stiles. The padded and upholstered seats rise on carved and reeded legs on ball feet. All chairs are upholstered in a gray and red damask with grey lip cord trim. There are no visible maker’s marks.
