1902 Model US Cavalry Saber by N.S. Meyer with Steel Scabbard

A 1902 model US cavalry saber by N.S. Meyer, with a steel scabbard. This sword features a black wooden molded grip with a flat, four-branch knuckleguard that leads to a counterguard with drop finial. The single-edged, slightly curved blade shows floral and military etchings and the ‘Colonial’ mark of N.S. Meyer of New York to the ricasso, with ‘Made in U.S.A.’ and a double triangle proof symbol. Also included is a steel scabbard with a flattened chape and two suspension rings.
Condition
- notable tarnish and rust to metal elements; chipping and scratching to grip; backstrap is missing; pommel has been replaced with simple bolt and washer; bend to the knuckleguard.
