Item Details
A Hitchcock oak rocking chair having a shaped crest rail with a gold stenciled fruit and basket motif over five simple carved spindles and flanked by rounded stiles. The arms have scrolled handholds and are supported by turned posts attached to the contoured seat. The chair rises up on turned legs joined by stretchers and resting on rocker rails. There are painted gold accents throughout. The makers mark can be found along the back of the crest rail in gold.
