Vintage Hand-Crafted Urgos Grandfather Clock
Item Details
A vintage hand-crafted Chippendale style Urgos grandfather clock. The inside of the door on this clock has been labeled ‘Hand-Crafted In 1969 For Judy & Hal Binyon/By WR Kritlow Lake Zurich Ill’. The hardwood case features a broken arch pediment with turned vase finial and carved details. Hand-carved floral molding frames the glass doors in front of the face and the brass weights and pendulum as well as on the sides of the base. The level of decorative detail includes a carved oval fan on the pedestal as well as complex beveled moldings on the base with a shaped apron and bracket feet. The mixed metal face has black Roman numerals and fancy hands. The center of the dial as well as the spandrels are brass with floral patterning on the surfaces. The face is marked ‘Urgos’.
