Late 19th-Century Davenport Porcelain Tureen
Item Details
A Davenport Longport Staffordshire porcelain tureen, circa 1870-1886. This round tureen features French bands alternating with gilt foliate vines around the lid, body, and underplate. The lid features a twisted acanthus leaf pull. The tureen and the underplate display scalloped handles with gilt, scrolled accents and dentil gilding to the edges.The Davenport factory in Longport, Staffordshire, England, produced pottery and porcelain between 1793 to 1887. The pieces are marked ‘Davenport Longport Staffordshire.’
