An oil painting on canvas by Parisian street artist Fernand Claver (1918 – c. 1961) titled Paris: Notre Dame. This piece depicts a Parisian street scene lined with vendors and figures walking by, with the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral in the distance. It is painted with loose, expressive strokes of paint. The work is signed to the lower right, as well as signed and titled to the verso. It is presented in a thin wood frame with a cloth liner and gold tone wood fillet. There is wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- craquelure in the upper right of the image area in the sky with paint loss; cloth liner is discolored and has accretion; nicks and scratches around the frame.
