A collection of four vintage metal mail slots. The collection includes an open slot marked ‘Papers’ to the front finished in a gold tone and stamped with an inspection date of 1942; a slot with lid marked ‘Letters’ finished in a bronze tone; a slot with lid embossed ‘Letters: to the front finished in a bronze tone; and a larger slot with lid marked ’Mail’ finished in a bronze tone with extensive verdigris. The ‘Mail’ slot is marked ‘The Helm Co., Saint Louis, Pat – 12-1-25’ to the back.
Condition
- oxidation and some verdigris noted; heavier to some than others.
