Circa 1937 Oil Painting on Paper of Lake Scene
Item Details
An oil painting on paper of a lake scene, created circa 1937. This painting depicts a canopy of thin trees hanging over a large body of water, which reflects sunlight across the whole surface while sporting calm, rolling waves. The unsigned painting is presented under glass beneath matting in a gold tone wooden frame. To the verso is affixed hanging wire, as well as an inscription that reads ‘University of Missouri, 1937’.
Condition
- toning on mat board and ground; minor chips on frame at top and bottom center-left; adhesive residue on backing paper of frame.
