An Aboriginal style throwing stick. Throwing sticks such as the Fijian ula and Australian kylie stick were used to hunt or for warfare in many early cultures; this example was carved from a light-toned hard wood, and has geometric figures carved to the haft in black, maroon, burnished yellow, and white.
