Dutch Artist Jan Korthals
Item Details
This selection consists of two identically framed Jan Korthals lithographs. One piece is titled Innsbruck and the other is titled Salzburg. Both are signed by this Dutch artist. This art is circa 1950. Normally printed in Holland where Mr. Korthals (1916-1972) resided, the art was distributed by the Donald Art Company, Inc of New York. The frames are wood with gold patina. The eggshell colored mat overlays a green inset mat, a color which is repeated in the inset portion of the frame. The art was professionally framed by Paul B Lukingbeal of Franklin, Ohio.
Jan Korthals (1916 – 1972) was an Amsterdam painter in the impressionist style. The style of Korthals is strongly influenced by his great examples, Breitner and Mackenzie . The latter was also the uncle of Korthals and has played a stimulating role in his life.
