A circa 1960s oil painting on canvas titled Santa Prisca, Taxco Mexico by listed Illinois artist Richard R. Benda (b. 1934). The piece depicts an abstract rendering of the iconic Santa Prisca de Taxco church in Mexico in hues of coral, red, yellow, mauve and cream. The work is signed ‘Benda’ in black paint to the lower left; it is additionally titled and signed ‘Richard R. Benda’ in marker to the verso. The painting is presented without glass under a cream woven liner with gold tone fillet, set inside a decorative wooden frame with moulded accents and gold tone finish. The frame includes a hanging wire to the verso.

- mild discoloration to image, with stains to canvas verso; minor edge wear to frame; backing paper does not fully cover verso; wear to woven frame liner.
