An original watercolor painting on textured paper titled Hip Rose attributed to American artist Mieze Riedel (Germany/Ohio, 1924 – 2016). The painting features a loose rendering of a flowering rose hip plant, portrayed through layered washes of watercolor with areas of texture created through the addition of salt. The painting is unsigned. It is presented behind a cream mat with a white liner, under glass, in a stained wood frame. It is ready to hang with a wire. A label indicating the title and the artist’s name is attached to the verso.

- debris under glass. Salt residue remaining on painting surface. Minor wear to frame finish.
