A vintage Japanese warrior doll. Featured is a depiction of the Japanese hero Benkei with a hand-painted ceramic head, raven hair, and an elaborate warrior costume of silk brocade over a poseable cloth body. The doll grasps a beaded necklace in one hand and is supported by a rectangular wooden base painted black. A visible maker’s mark is not present.

- ripped seam on one arm; minor wear to underside.
