Norwegian David Andersen and Aksel Holmsen Enameled Sterling Silver Flatware
Item Details
A six-piece collection of Norwegian enameled sterling silver flatware. Featured are three items by Aksel Holmsen of Sandefjord (founded 1932) including a spoon and fork with ribbed yellow enamel handles and one fork with a ribbed green enamel handle. The backs of the handles are marked ‘Made in Norway Sterling’ with a pictorial maker’s mark followed by ‘925 S’. Also included are three two-prong forks by David Andersen of Oslo. They feature flared handles accented by panels of teal and yellow enameling terminating to shell-shaped tips. The forks are marked ‘D-A 925S Norway-Sterling’ with a maker’s mark, used after 1925. The total approximate weight, inclusive of all enamel materials, is 3.150 ozt.
