Item Details

A 19th century overshot wool coverlet. The coverlet is reversible, with one side in a light coral background with a square and cruciform design in shades of orange, navy black and ivory, with a scalloped border and deep multi-colored fringe to both ends. The verso is in a deep navy background with cruciform square medallions framed by openwork squares with cruciform corner accents, in orange and ivory. The coverlet to this side is banded in stylized double tree forms, with linear scalloped borders.
