Central African Ekoi Tribe "Janus" Wooden Mask

A Central African region Ekoi ‘Janus’ or hand carved two-faced wooden mask. This piece has two different faces to either side with faux hair and a red piece to the head. Two-headed masks are common to a handful of tribes in the central African region covering Cameroon and the Congo. They can symbolize warrior spirits, the forces of good and evil, or ancestor spirits.
