A vintage Guatemalan folk art carving. This hand-painted piece is constructed from wood with notched carving and stands at over two feet tall. It depicts a winged man, possibly a version of Cupid, standing within a ring of twisted, red fabric, with outstretched arms, as if holding an arrow. There is no apparent maker’s mark, but is a tassel around the neck that reads ‘El Señor De Chalma’.

Condition

- there is extensive wear to the hand painted finish and dust present. This item does not include the piece that would have been inserted into the hands. There is a crack to the wrist and area that looks like fabric.
