An oil painting on panel of actor John Wayne by Oklahoma artist Fred Olds. This portrait depicts the grinning figure in a white cowboy hat, a well-blended scarf encircling his neck. The work is dated ‘81’ to its lower right along with a decorative signature, and is mounted in a wooden frame with a wire for hanging and a personal letter from the artist to ‘Ralph’ to its verso.

- fair; abrasions to upper right of painting; wear and scratches throughout frame; wear to frame verso.
