WWII-Era U.S. Military Paper Targets "(Kneeling) Figure 3 and Disappearing Man"

A set of three World War II-era paper shooting targets; the items were used by the U.S. military for Basic Training rifle range exercises. Featured are three copies of Target No. 6, titled (Kneeling) Figure 3 and ‘Disappearing Man’, each depicting a German Axis soldier wearing an iron cross and pointing a weapon. Each piece includes text and scoring instructions printed in plate to the lower margin, including text of ‘Practice No. 3 Preliminary Rifle Range Course for Basic Training Centre Recruits’. The three targets are presented under glass in a black wooden frame fitted with sawtooth hanging hardware to the verso.
Condition
- toning and discoloration to paper targets; minor wear to frames; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly.
