Russian Shashka Saber with Scabbard

A Russian shashka saber. This slightly curved sword was the favored weapon of the Russian Cossacks, and was unusual due to its lack of a crossguard. This piece features a slightly curved, single-edged blade with an etched, silver-toned hilt and grooved off-white grip. Also included is a green scabbard with etched silver-toned chape, suspension ring, and throat, the latter of which is engraved with a double-headed Imperial eagle, with the word ‘Россия’ (Russia) above and the abbreviation ‘СКФ’ (SKF) below.
