A watercolor painting on paper, titled South Carolina Town, by artist Thomas Meek, Junior. This work is rendered with painterly brushwork in shades of blue, black and gray, depicting a narrow street lined with buildings, a church steeple rising in the distance. The work is signed, titled and dated ‘53’ to its lower margin, and is double-matted under glass in a black frame with a hanging wire to its verso.
Condition
- heavy discoloration to painting and matting; stains on inside of glass; heavy wear and paint loss to frame, especially along the bottom.
