A vintage Mid Century Modern George Nakashima dining table. This walnut table is designed with Nakashima’s iconic butterfly inlays attaching the table’s two panels, resting atop splayed legs.

Provenance: Property of Grailville, Loveland, OH, originally purchased by Lydwine Van Kersbergen (1904 – 1998), a founding Grail member in the United States, between 1956 – 1964, while residing at an early Grail center in Burlington, NJ.

George Nakashima (1905—1990) was an American woodworker, furniture maker, and architect. One of the leading innovators of 20th-century furniture design, Nakashima used the natural patterns, forms, and even imperfections of wood to create minimalist pieces of beautiful and functional furniture.
