A vintage M.M. Japanese hand painted black lacquer musical jewelry box with abalone shell inlay. The box features a gold tone painted landscape motif over black lacquer with inlaid abalone shell accents. It has a hinged lid with a mirror to the interior, interior compartments including two with painted hinged lids, bracket feet, and metal hardware. The box is marked ‘M.M Japan’ to the underside.
