Vintage Renaissance Revival Style Mahogany Reclining Chair

Item Details

A vintage Renaissance Revival style, mahogany reclining chair. The chair having six horizontal back slats over paddle arms ending with scrolled handholds supported by an army of turned spindles headed by a stop-fluted post. The back and seat are fitted with removable cushions covered in a floral tapestry-like woven fabric. The chair sits at an angle raised in front by curved legs on paw-carved feet. The back legs are on casters and curve outward to join the arms. The curves are fitted with brass hooks that, with the dowel rod, allow the back to recline to four positions. There are no visible maker’s marks.
