Carved Wood Heraldry Crest Wall Hangings

Item Details

Carved wood crest for Cataluña based on four red pallets on a gold background which have been used since the Middle Ages. A second crest show a red lion which traditionally symbolizes courage, strength and nobility. The crests are framed by carved rococo style gold tone molding of leaves, scrolls and garland. Both have wire hangers to the verso and show no maker’s marks.

Condition

- cracks, scratches, finish loss; piece of molding missing to lion crest.
