Item Details

A Sligh grandfather clock. The clock is oak with a curved bonnet with carved scrollwork accents and inset panels on the crest. The case features carved, pole side columns with corner block accents and beveled glass side panels on the top and bottom and a glass front door with latches and a key. The door displays an elegant brass and gold-tone moon phase clock and a clock face with etched scrollwork to the center surrounded by a gold-tone chapter ring with raised brass, Arabic numbers and black serpentine hands that are accented with embossed scrollwork and leaf spandrels. The clock has three brass key arbors and a lyre style brass pendulum and weights on chains. Other features of the clock include chimes on the hour and half hour, a key for winding and the clock stands on a plinth style base with bracket feet. The clock is marked ‘Charles Sligh’ on a brass plaque on the door .
