Item Details

A women’s Chinese late Qing dynasty period informal coat in blue silk on silk with hand embroidery and ivory silk embroidered trim. This robe has wide sleeves, loop and button closures, slits to each side and blue silk jacquard lining in floral motifs. The body is hand-embroidered with medallions featuring chrysanthemum motifs and narcissus motifs throughout. The trim has hand-embroidered bands in plum blossom, chrysanthemum, bamboo leaf and figural motifs.
