Antique Straight Edge Razor with Sharpening Blocks

Item Details

An antique straight-edged razor with two sharpening stones. The folding knife has an ivory-toned celluloid handle and a steel blade, inscribed with ‘T.J. Bowler’s Favorite’ on the blade; the ricasso is marked ‘Lawton Cutlery Co.,’ which operated in Chicago between 1890 and 1895, with ‘Germany’ to the reverse. One large sharpening stone bears a label of J.G. Escher Sons, while the smaller stone is unmarked.

Condition

- chip and some tarnish to the blade; marks on stones consistent with light use; wear to stone label.
