A lithograph on paper titled The Gauley after American cartoonist and outdoors illustrator William Nealy (1953-2001). This print provides an illustrated map and guide to the whitewater paddling rapids in the Gauley River near Summersville, West Virginia, as well as a plea for protest against a proposed plan to build a hydro generator tunnel that would have destroyed the recreational ability of the Upper Gauley. It is dated 1972 (revised 1982), and signed in plate near the center of the right side. This print is presented unmatted and unframed.
Condition
- minor discoloration to the paper; tends toward rolled state.
