A pair of planographic prints, drawings, and paintings of portraits. Featured is an oil painting on canvas of a landscape. Included are two works after James Whistler including a lithograph after a self-portrait of Whistler after a drawing held in Pennell Collection. The other work after Whistler is a halftone print after the work titled Whistler’s Mother. Also included is a graphite drawing of a woman reclining on a coach. This piece is signed illegibly to the lower right corner. Works are presented behind glass in wood frames hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Condition
- largest drawing: indentations on paper along bottom; wear to paint on frame; no protective glass.
- painting: cracks throughout ground; residue and wear along edges of painting; wear and minor chips on frame edges.
- portrait of Whistler: toning and foxing on print paper; chips on corners of frame.
- Whistler’s Mother print: image fading; wear to backing of frame; wear to paint on frame.
