Antique 39 Star American Flag
Item Details
An antique 39-star American flag. This dyed cloth flag represents the unofficial US flag in November 1889 when manufactures expected the Dakota territory to become a single state. There is a silver tone plaque below the flag which reads ‘1889’. This piece is presented mounted under glass in a wooden frame with a wire hanger to the verso.
Condition
- bubbling on flag where it appears to be adhered to backing; foxing and bubbling on backing; scratches and wear to tab with year printed on it; chips on corners of frame.
