An oil painting on board titled Breaking Away from the Tour Series by self-taught Buffalo-based artist John Schweikhard (b. 1938). This work features an slightly abstracted scene where a crowd of people stand watching a racing cyclist. The artist captures a sense of movement in a fleeting moment with sweeping painterly brushstrokes. Signed by hand in ink to the lower left.
