Antique Edwin Bennett Porcelain Vases
Item Details
A pair of antique Edwin Bennett Pottery Bona Fama semi-porcelain vases. The pair features a spring flower theme, with white and purple iris framed with green leaves. The vases have a gilded round tops, gilded criss-cross accents to the shoulders and tapered bodies. One vase is marked to the underside ‘Bona Fama Est Melior Zona Aurea’ which roughly translates as ‘A good reputation is better than a golden belt’, a motto used by the Edwin Bennett Company from 1846-1936.
Condition
- crack on lip of beige vase previously repaired
- minor surface scratches, paint chipping off on rim
