19th Century Chinese Hand Carved and Gilded Mirror with Reverse Painting

Item Details

A circa 19th century hand-carved Chinese gilded reverse painted mirror. This antique mirror features an ornately carved and gilded frame overlay featuring a honeycomb-like hexagonal lattice, floriate scrollwork, and caryatid architectural elements framing each mirror. Five of the six mirrors are decorated with hand-painted scenes of aristocratic figures in cobalt blue, red, and coral. Hanging hardware can be found at the top and sides of the piece. It is not signed.
