An oil painting on canvas of a landscape by listed Belgian-American artist Carolus Verhaeren (1908 – 1956). This work depicts a still pool of water bordered by rocks and a lush forest with mountain peaks rising in the background. The piece is signed to the lower right, though the signature is partially obscured by the frame. The painting is presented in an ornate gilt wooden frame with gesso and a hanging wire to the verso.

- craquelure to surface of painting; some chips and loss of gesso to frame.
