1958 Joachim Probst Oil Painting "Self-Portrait"
Item Details
A oil painting on canvas, titled Self-Portrait, by New York artist Joachim Probst (1913-1980). This colorful work depicts a slightly-abstracted figure, rendered with textured brushwork in shades of red and blue. This piece is dated 1958 to its verso as well as being titled and signed ‘Probst.’ The painting is mounted in a carved wooden frame with a textile liner and a wire for hanging to its verso.
Condition
- fair; moderate discoloration to image; cracks in the paint at the center and top center; mild warping to ground; minor wear to frame.
