An oil painting on canvas of a still life in the manner of listed American artist Brantley Smith (19/20th century). This painting depicts a bouquet of red poppies spilling from a glass vase, a pair of hardcover books, and a blue mug arranged atop a square side table. The work is rendered with vivid details and well-blended brushwork. It is signed ‘B. Smith’ by hand to the lower right corner. The artist’s name is also signed by hand to the verso. This painting is housed in a gold tone wood and gesso frame stylized foliate motif molding and a metal hanging wire to the verso.
