An oil painting on board titled Le Pont Neuf by listed French modernist Joseph Lepine (1867 – 1943). From a lower perspective along the River Seine, this work features a view of Paris’ famous historic bridge; above the bridge in the background are the repetitious facades of the historic row houses surrounding the Place Dauphine. The scene is portrayed with large painterly brushstrokes and layered impasto creating rough texture throughout the composition. The work is signed to the lower right. It is presented in a decorative gilt wood frame. Some handwritten inscriptions and descriptive labels are present to the verso, indicating the the work was previously exhibited at the Exposition d’Montreal.

- some wear in frame includes stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout; frame corners are slightly separating; wear throughout board verso.
